Dr. Bivek Baral
Dr. Bivek Baral is currently a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Kathmandu University. He has been associated with Kathmandu University for the last 21 years. He received his B.E. from Kathmandu University (Nepal) in 1999, M.E. from University of Tokyo (Japan) in 2003 and PhD from University of Auckland (New Zealand) in 2010. Prof. Baral’s researches focus on renewable energy, thermal system design and energy efficient building design. In the past Prof. Baral has worked in the area of combustion analysis, thermo-fluids and computational fluid dynamics. He has a good number of publications in national and international journals.

Dr Tshewang Lhendup
Dr Tshewang Lhendup is an Assistant Professor and Dean of Academic Affairs of the College of Science and Technology, Royal University of Bhutan. Dr Lhendup obtained his Master of Engineering Science and PhD in Renewable Energy from the University of Melbourne, Australia. He did his postdoctoral at Kyoto University Japan. Dr Lhendup has been teaching science and engineering courses for more than 20 years. He has authored/co-authored more than 40 peer-reviewed scientific papers, a book on ‘Development of Inter-seasonal Thermal Storage’, and a chapter on Green Technology. Dr Lhendup was awarded the National Order of Merit (Gold) by His Majesty the King of Bhutan in December 2016 for his exemplary service to the Nation Building in the field of Education. Dr Lhendup also served as a President of IEEE Bhutan-Subsection 2018 and Counsellor of IEEE Bhutan Student Chapter.

Ms. Sehba Saleem
Ms. Sehba Saleem, M.Arch in Urban Regeneration is an academician and practicing architect from New Delhi, did research in the field of urbanization and disaster related to coastal lines leading to impact on social and physical growth of a city structure. She was a past Assistant Professor at College of Science and Technology, Royal University of Bhutan, and Jamia Millia Islamia Central University, India.

Mr. Hemlal Bhattarai
Mr. Hemlal Bhattarai received Diploma and B.E. in Electrical Engineering from National Technical Training Authority (NTTA) and Royal University of Bhutan (RUB) in 2001 and 2005 respectively. Prior to joining teaching in 2006, he worked in Department of Power as Section Officer for a short while. He completed his Master of Technology in ‘Power and Energy System’ from National Institute of Technology, Karnataka, India in 2009. He served as Head of Department for Electrical Engineering and also Dean of Research & Industrial linkages at Jigme Namgyel Engineering College (JNEC), RUB for last 9 years.

Assistant Professor Roshan Chhetri
Roshan Chhetri completed BTech in EEE from REC (now NIT) Warangal, India and MScE in Electrical Engineering and Diploma in University Teaching from University of New Brunswick, Canada. He completed 30 years in teaching and presently working as Assistant Professor at College of Science and Technolgy (CST), Royal University of Bhutan. Roshan is a recipient of the National Award of Merit (Gold) for Long Tenure in Academic in Dec 2013 and National Award of Merit (Gold) for Excellence in Academic in Dec 2014 from His Majesty the King of Bhutan. He is also a recipient of Endeavour Executive Fellowship Awards, March to July 2015, University of Wollongong, NSW, Australia. He  was a cordinator for (i) Interweave project (Erasmus Mundus), (ii) University- Business Partnership programme for Analysis and Modelling of Bhutan’s Hydropower Plants & Allied Activities funded by DAAD, German academic Exchange, (iii) Erasmus +KA107 with University of Valencia qnd (iv) ERASMUS + project eACCESS (eu-Asia Collaboration for aCcessible Education in Smart power Systems). He has published and presented more than 20 papers in journals and conferences. He is Chairperson for TC-03 and  President for Bhutan’s National Electrotechnical Committee (NEC).

Mr. Sajid Iqbal
Mr. Sajid Iqbal finished his BSc and MSc on Environmental Science and Management from North South University, Bangladesh. He initiated CHANGE, a development organization in 2013 to promote simple and innovative technologies to address energy and climate change crisis. Working with various international development cooperation and government agencies, CHANGE introduced affordable and adaptable natural light improvement initiatives in slums and industries conserving a huge amount of electricity and reducing tons of CO2 emissions. Sajid also worked for a couple of years at GIZ, Bangladesh as a consultant, leading a few innovative energy efficiency improvement initiatives. He also worked as the Research and Insights Lead at the Social Innovation Lab, BRAC. It is mentionable that, Sajid is a U.S. State Alumni, British Queen awarded Queen’s Young Leaders (2017) and also Forbes 30 Under 30 listed Social Entrepreneur (2018).

Mr. Zia ul Haque
Mr. Zia ul Haque is an Architect and an Urban & Regional Planner. His interests areas in Urban planning, Urban Design and Sustainable Urbanisation of towns also in areas of rural settlements for Ecologically sensitive development and Environmental sustainability. Research and investigation in Himalayan cities with focus on Spatial Equity in Urban planning and Sustainable development across geographies, and has over five years of experience in the Urban planning & development sector and he was previously associated with the Regional Centre for Urban & Environmental studies in the areas of Capacity Building/Training in CBUD program and MoHUA missions. Zia ul Haque is an alumnus of Centre for Environmental planning & Technology, C.E.P.T University Ahmedabad (2014). He holds a degree in Masters of Urban & Regional Planning and Bachelors in architecture with Honours from Government college of Architecture, Lucknow.

Mr. MD. Reswat Azim
Mr. MD. Reswat Azim. Energy & environmental sustainability professional, passionate about caring for the environment & ensuring compliance with current environmental legislation in related to emission, pollution, carbon footprint & waste management. Has considerable experience of environmental policies, procedures, good practices & impact assessments, implementing these followed by monitoring, & reviewing. Has auditing experience with sound capabilities & can relate to people on all levels including internal, external, 3rd party & govt.-semigovt. Organization’s etc. Passionate to serve with best authentic work & participate in almost 40 professional development training & courses in national & international organizations. All these are dreaming to do much better & now vision is to boost career in a broader perspective.

Mr. Namgay Tenzin
Mr. Namgay Tenzin, Associate Lecturer, Electrical Engineering Department. College of Science and Technology; Royal University of Bhutan, Rinchending, Phuentsholing, Bhutan. He obtained his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from College of Science and Technology (CST), Royal University of Bhutan (RUB), Bhutan in 2015; Master of Technology Degree in Alternate Hydro Energy Systems from Department of Hydro and Renewable Energy (Formerly known as Alternate Hydro Energy Centre), Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India in June 2019. Presently he is working as Associate Lecturer under Electrical Engineering Department, CST, RUB, Bhutan since September 2015. His research area includes integrated renewable energy grid, small hydropower, smart grid, solar and wind power system along integrated solutions to address with human wild life conflicts.

Dr Shirin Shafiei Ebrahimi
Dr Shirin Shafiei Ebrahimi. Is an Assistant Professor in English at University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. She is an expert in targeted communication and utilization of Information Technology tools in learning and information dissemination. She is highly published and is a frequent speaker at expert events.

Ms. Sarika Iqbal
Ms. Sarika Iqbal is currently serving as senior executive at Banglalink Digital Communications Ltd. Her passion lies in public speaking and anchoring for which she has been relentlessly working in the media sector of Bangladesh since 2015. Previously, she has represented the country, as well as her undergraduate institution, North South University at United States while being selected by the U.S Embassy for the program ‘Study of the U.S Institutes for Student Leaders’. Sarika is very enthusiastic in developing the media sector of Bangladesh and working towards the goal to make it a more accountable and transparent public sphere.
